Always enjoy the vista and challenges here, in better shape than hoped. Still need to do something about food service (better) and their primative alcohol rules ...

sand traps had no sand....made for very difficult up and downs from the traps. They really need to correct this.Other than the traps issue the course is in good shape for this time of the year.

My group and I play this course regularly. It's been one of the best courses in this area for better than 40 years.

Good course. My group plays most of the courses within 1 1/2 hours of Huntsville that offer a challenging layout and good conditions at a fair price. We end up playing Goose Pond Colony about once every 2 months. The pro shop and snack bar are nothing to mention, but the course meanders over a couple of large hills and a couple of holes run next to the neighboring lake. The greens are a bermuda hybrid and are usually in good to great condition depending on when they were last mowed. Definitely worth the hour drive from Huntsville.

Play here with large group twice a year. Our favorite evidenced by the fact we have been returning for 10 years.

Late spring to early summer presents some turf issues, like most munis. From mid June through early November GPC plays very good. The lake vistas are great and the breezes are refreshing during summer months. Overall, a very worthwhile drive to Scottsboro.
